It involves forcing molten plastic (polymer) into a cavity, cooling it down to solidify and form different parts of plastics. PROCESS OF INJECTION MOLDED PLASTIC

The injection molding process starts with the preparation of the plastic material, which is melted inside a heated barrel. Then, with the help of a plunger or screw, the molten plastic is pushed through the nozzle into the mold’s cavity, filling it completely. The mold is then closed by clamping and cooled down so that solidification takes place on the plastic. Afterward, when enough cooling has occurred on the part made from plastic, opening up takes place on this mold allowing ejecting finished parts.
